Being A Supportive Spouse

Being a supportive spouse can
be both a rewarding and a
difficult role. Although the
dictionary definition is quite
clear, living out being supportive
in your marriage isn't always so
well defined. For most couples
the most important aspect of
being supportive is being a
loving presence in your spouse's
life.
Definition
If you look for a dictionary
definition of being supportive,
you will find phrases like "being
an advocate", "providing for",
"strengthening", "to keep from
weakening or failing", "bearing
the weight", and "keeping from
falling, sinking, slipping."
That's quite a responsibility for
any one to take on. The sense of
responsibility grows even
greater when a spouse is
weighed down by problems with
job, family, kids, health, or social
obligations or is coping with
feelings of loss, disappointment,
and fear.
Ways to be Supportive
Respect your spouse's personal
decisions.
Show that you have faith in your
mate.
Be the shoulder to lean on when
your spouse has a sinking
feeling.
Work together with your spouse
to maintain balance in your life
together.
Don't be threatened by your
spouse's accomplishments. Tell
people, especially your partner,
how proud you are of his/her
talents and skills.
In wanting to help your spouse
to rebound from a difficult
situation, don't try to solve your
partner's problem.
Listen well so that your spouse
knows you are wanting to
understand the issue or situation
troubling your mate.
Be realistic as you encourage
your spouse. Don't exaggerate.

The Causes Of Marriage Failure

Irrespective of how unrelenting
we might be in saying that
money issues could never break
a marriage, it might remain part
of the fact that shows us that
one of the major causes of a
marriage failure is relating to
money issues. This is common
most particularly for those that
enter the second marriage.
The commonest question for
those that enter the second
marriage is the issue on sharing
money and properties or not.
When one wants hers to be hers
and his to be his, it is naturally
superb as it signifies oneness in
the relationship. But, it couldn't
be denied as well that each
person has a right and the
explanation to keep what he
owns. This is one of the
problems that are being faced by
most couples and it's all up to
them to resolve and find
solutions that would not
completely ruin the marriage.
Cash , whatever little or big the
amount is, it actually does not
count at all, the most significant
consideration is that you trust
one another and you are
submitting yourselves for a
genuine lifetime partnership.
Regardless of the relationship is
and money gets involved that
much, it might certainly create an
effect that would break some
strands shared by 2 people.
When you come to consider it, it
is too miserable that some
couples finish up sour about one
another and finish up with
different lives because they could
not reconcile their financial
assets. For couples not to have
these issues, you've got to be
extremely fair and you have got
to clear things up before settling
down. Cash must be believed to
be an asset and it has got to be
used and managed well for it not
to be utilized in an inaccurate
demeanour. There would never
be a satisfaction when money is
in the centerpiece. For people
that are in the second marriage,
though it may appear not so
romantic, but you might openly
debate what you believe is
wanted to be brought in the
open about your money matters
as people or as partners.
When both are open not only
about what they have but as well
as what arrangement to they
need to have, it might be a lot
simpler to address and not to
have more conflicts in the
relationship. Monetary issues
must all be cleared so as not to
make ambitions toward one
another obscure.

5 Steps To Plan For A Financial Successful Marriage

The first months of a marriage
are when couples establish the
spending and saving patterns
that will determine whether they
will prosper or become lifelong
slaves to creditors. That's why
the time to work out a financial
plan is early, preferably before
you walk down that aisle. How
well you lay down the
groundwork in the first months
of your marriage will determine
whether your wedding will kick
off a lifetime of financial
struggles or a smooth journey
down the road to security, peace
of mind and a rewarding
retirement.
Before I suggest how you can
build a financially successful
marriage, let's agree on the three
hard realities of married life that
stand as the biggest hurdles to a
financially successful marriages.
Reality Number 1: Every young
couple want more than they
can afford.
It doesn't matter whether
both are professional superstars
earning in the mid six figures or
a pair of struggling artists barely
making rent on a loft. Despite
this fact of human nature, most
young couples, no matter how
intelligent and professionally
successful, fall into the trap of
wanting more than they need or
can really afford. They justify this
by telling themselves that they
are young and can start saving
for kids' college educations and
retirements once their earnings
start outpacing their spending.
The flaw with this strategy:
earnings never catch up with
undisciplined spending, much
less outpace it.
[CONTINUED BELOW]
Reality Number 2: Every
temptation feels like a
necessity.
How can you deny the spouse
and/or kids a dinner out, new
furniture, new car, new
computer system, trip to Hawaii?
Who has the heart to tell the
spouse, "I won't allow you that
pleasure because I'd rather save
the money." The desire to save
money in and of itself rarely
stand up to the temptations that
come down the pike. For most
couples the last and only line of
budgetary defense is the empty
checking account.
Reality Number 3: Saving is
easy to put off.
Given a million dollars to
spend within a year, most
couples would have enough
sense to solemnly resolve to
spend a twelfth of that each
month. Come July, most would
have spent well over half that
amount but justified it by
reasoning that once they take
care of all their deferred needs,
they will be able to get by on less.
Come Thanksgiving they will be
wondering how they are going
to afford Christmas gifts with
their few remaining dollars.
Coping intelligently with those
three realities of marriage is the
key to a financially successful
marriage. Here's a 5-step
strategy to help your marriage
beat the odds:
1. Establish your financial plan
early.
The best time to hash out
your long-term goals is before
you get married. No amount of
planning after marriage will
reconcile two people with
diametrically opposed views on
spending and saving. If you and
your prospective spouse
disagree fundamentally, it's best
to recognize early that you will
probably have to choose
between that person and your
financial goals.
2. Agree on areas to economize.
The most difficult aspect of a
financial plan is agreeing on
areas on which to economize.
Housing, cars, dining out,
vacation travel, home
furnishings, clothing, sports and
recreation, groceries, giftgiving,
charitable giving, computers and
electronics are all areas that
allow spending discretion. For
example, you may decide that
you are willing to drive small
cars, furnish your home
inexpensively, forego long
vacations and skip most types of
home electronics, but aren't
willing to live in a cramped
apartment, scrimp on groceries
or cut down on your reading
habits. It's neither realistic nor
desirable to deny yourselves all
material pleasures. What matters
is that you identify at least some
areas in which you would both
feel comfortable scrimping. For
example, even two small ways of
economizing -- driving small cars
and brownbagging lunches --
will save a couple about ten
thousand dollars a year or a half
million dollars in thirty years
when the compounding effect is
factored in! That's enough to pay
off the mortgage on a nice
second home!
3. Visualize the rewards you are
working toward.
They might include quality
educations for the kids, a
spacious house, a vacation home,
early retirement with regular
travel. It's important to visualize
these long-term rewards clearly
so they will motivate you to stay
the course. Get photos that help
you picture those rewards and
keep them in plain view around
the house and in your office. It is
much easier to tell people, "I'm
saving for a second home in
Maui" than to say, "I'm trying to
save a few bucks." Truly
worthwhile long-term rewards
are the very best defenses
against the constant temptations
of instant gratification. Write
them down and prioritize them.
4. Learn to share inexpensive
passtimes that improve your
mind and body.
Boredom encourages
frivolous impulse spending.
Shopping, amusement parks,
shows, skydiving, speedboats,
dining out and movies all have
their place, but many people use
them as escapes from their
general ennui with life. Routinely
spending money to be
entertained is a symptom of
spiritual decay rather than of a
healthy lifestyle. It also happens
to be a surefire way to keep
yourselves in indentured
servitude to creditors instead of
working toward financial
freedom. Satisfy your desire for
mental and physical stimulation
is through healthful, constructive
activities like hiking, running,
cycling, bodybuilding, reading,
taking classes, playing board
games, music, arts and crafts.
Cultivating these kinds of
passtimes will save the average
urban professional couple tens --
if not hundreds -- of thousands
of dollars over two or three
decades. And that doesn't even
count the many thousands that a
generally healthier, more
satisfying lifestyles will save in
medical expenses and lost
wages.

10 secrets of failure

I earlier discussed the 10 secrets of success, which I exploded basically on positive thinking, and this time is the 10 secrets of failure. The exciting part of this two (2) topics is that one is the opposite of the other, they both have a familiar lines.

What does it take to be a winner? Most successful people do not know how they achieved their success.Success for them just arrived and was a very pleasant and satisfying experience. If you stand and talk to a successful person for any length of time you will notice that their attitude and belief system is somewhat different to that which you are used to.They seem to have a different angle or slant on things which you usually find quite refreshing. If you could get close enough to these successful people to analyze their belief system you will find that they do none of the following … Top 10 secrets of failure:1 – Remain positive all day long...for no reason. This is emotionally unnatural!2 – Discuss your life's objectives with negative family and friends.3 – Accept gratuitous advice from unsuccessful people.4 – Follow-the-herd... because that is what everyone else is doing.5 – Watch TV constantly... this is guaranteed to destroy all creativity.6 – Heavily mortgage into debt and absolutely guarantee high stress for years to come.7 – Remain in a business/ personal situation where you are perpetually unhappy and stressed.8 – Tell yourself continually that you are naturally unlucky.9 – Become petty-minded and envious when someone you know has a major windfall.10- Make lifestyle decisions based on spur-of-the-moment emotional feelings. It is not what winners do that makes them so successful; it is what they don't do!They totally avoid the above 10 secrets of failure, either consciously or subconsciously. You create your reality according to your beliefs and expectations; therefore you should examine these carefully. If you do not like some aspect of your world, then examine your own expectations.Your world is formed in faithful replica of your own thoughts... If you think positive suggestions to yourself about a situation you send telepathic ammunition for positive use. You must learn to erase a negative thought or picture by replacing it with its opposite. But do not attempt to think positive thoughts all day long. Let your emotional swings work in the normal manner. You should tell yourself frequently "I will only react to constructive suggestions." This gives you positive ammunition against your own negative thoughts and those of others. A negative thought, if not erased, will almost certainly result in a negative condition. Say to yourself, "That is in the past. Now in this new moment, this new present, I am already beginning to change for the better." It does not do to repress negative thoughts, such as fears, angers, or resentment. They should be recognized, faced and replaced.Recognize resentment when it is felt, and then realize that resentment can be dismissed. Initial recognition must be made. Then you must imagine removing the resentment "by its roots" and replacing it with a positive feeling. You must watch the pictures that you paint with your imagination.Your environment and the conditions of your life at any given time are the direct result of your own inner expectations. If you imagine dire circumstances, ill health or desperate loneliness, these will be "automatically" materialized, for these thoughts themselves bring about the conditions that will give them a reality in physical terms. If you would have good health then you must imagine this as vividly as you fearfully imagine ill health. You create your own difficulties. This is true for each individual. The inner psychological state is projected outward, gaining physical reality -whatever the psychological state may be … The rules apply to everyone.Knowing this, you should try to realize what your psychological state is and change your conditions for your own benefit. You cannot escape your own attitudes, for they will form the nature of what you see. If changes are to occur, they must be mental and psychic changes. These will be reflected in your environment.

10 Secrets Of Success

I 've always highlighted on this words,I never stop telling people about,ur tongue is power, what ever u speak out of ur mouth is what ur spirit walk with.
So I've decided 2 put up this lines 2 send more motivations.

1. How You Think is Everything.
Always be positive. Think
Success, not Failure. Beware of a
negative environment.
This trait has to be one of the
most important in the entire list.
Your belief that you can
accomplish your goals has to be
unwavering. The moment you
say to yourself “I can’t…”, then
you won’t. I was always given
the advice “never say I can’t” and
I’d like to strike those words
from the dictionary.
I’ve found that from time-to-time
my attitude waivers. A mentor of
mine once said “it’s ok to visit
pity city, but you can’t stay and
there comes a time when you
need to leave ”. Positive things
happen to positive people.
2. Decide upon Your True
Dreams and Goals: Write down
your specific goals and develop a
plan to reach them.
Write down my dreams and
goals? Develop a plan to reach
them? You mean like a project
plan? Yes, that ’s exactly what this
means. You may have heard the
old adage: A New Years
resolution that isn ’t written
down is just a dream, and
dreams are not goals.
Goals are those concrete,
measurable stepping stones of
achievement that track your
progress towards your dreams.
My goal is to start a second
career as a freelance writer –
what are your goals?
3. Take Action. Goals are nothing
without action.
Be like Nike and “Just do it”. I
took action by reaching out and
started writing. Every day I try to
take some action towards my
goals. It may be small, but it ’s still
an action. Have you taken action
towards your goals?
4. Never Stop Learning: Go back
to school or read books. Get
training & acquire skills.
Becoming a life long learner
would benefit us all and is
something we should instill in
our kids. It ’s funny that once
you’re out of school you realize
how enjoyable learning can be.
What have you learned today?
5. Be Persistent and Work Hard:
Success is a marathon, not a
sprint. Never give up.
I think every story of success I
read entails long hard hours of
work. There is no getting around
this and there is no free lunch.
But, if you ’re working towards
something that you’re passionate
about, something you love – then
is it really work?
6. Learn to Analyze Details: Get
all the facts, all the input. Learn
from your mistakes.
I think you have to strike a
balance between getting all the
facts and making a decision with
incomplete data – both are traits
of successful people. Spend time
gathering details, but don ’t catch
‘analysis paralysis’.
7. Focus Your Time And Money:
Don’t let other people or things
distract you.
Remain laser focused on your
goals and surround yourself with
positive people that believe in
you. Don ’t be distracted by the
naysayer’s or tasks that are not
helping you achieve your goals.
8. Don’t Be Afraid To Innovate:
Be different. Following the herd
is a sure way to mediocrity.
Follow through on that break-out
idea you have. Ask yourself
“ What would I do if I wasn’t
afraid?”
9. Deal And Communicate With
People Effectively: No person is
an island. Learn to understand
and motivate others.
Successful people develop and
nurture a network and they only
do that by treating people
openly, fairly and many times
firmly. There is nothing wrong
about being firm – just don’t
cross the a-hole line. How do you
deal with people?
10. Be Honest And Dependable:
Take responsibility, otherwise
numbers 1 – 9 won’t matter.
Enough said.

Ex-millitants vow to cripple oil exprossion.

As protests continue to trail the
gubernatorial election result,
which returned incumbent
governor, Dr. Emmanuel
Uduaghan for the second term in
Delta State, a group of former
militants, under the aegis of the
Coalition of Niger Delta Freedom
Fighters, in the state, has given a
21-day ultimatum to the
Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC, and President
Goodluck Jonathan, to reverse
what they called the imposition
of Uduaghan on the people.
The body compromising of
former militants and freedom
fighters in the Niger Delta region
in a statement by ‘General’ Akpos
Jones and ‘Commander’ Ziko, said
they were ready to cripple the oil
industry in Delta State and the
Niger Delta region in general, if
their demand was not met
before 21 days.
They statement added that they
came to the conclusion because
of the naked and forceful
imposition of Uduaghan on the
people of Delta State by the
Federal Government through its
agencies, such as INEC, Army,
Police and other security
agencies in the April 26, 2011
election.
They alleged that the Federal
Government through the two
ministers representing Delta
State in the Federal Executive
Council, sent a message to Delta
State a day before the
governorship election, that
Uduaghan must be returned as
governor at all cost, whether the
people of Delta State liked it or
not.
“True to this message, the
governorship election was
massively rigged. We regard this
imposition as an affront on our
sensibility and that of Deltans in
general. The situation is made
worse by the suppression of
women groups, students groups
and other groups, who had or
attempted to protest this
imposition.
“It is on record that bad
leadership and imposition of
leaders were responsible for
militancy in the Niger Delta
region, which came to a
temporary stop with the
granting of amnesty to former
militants,”the statement added.

How To Overcome Criticizing And Feelings Of Inferiority

I would be completely lying and
doing everyone a disfavor if I
said, "The inferiority complex is
all in the mind, dude. Just stop
thinking you're inferior because
you're not." It isn't. If it were so
simple then billions, yes billions,
wouldn't experience it sometime
in their life.
I know of personal development
teachers who teach such things.
I did some brief browsing on the
web to see what information
was available on the inferiority
complex, and most of the advice
offered is harmful. "Experts"
were telling people "things will
get better", "be more positive", or
"it's not so bad". If you have the
inferiority complex and someone
says that to you, then you'll
understand the massive
frustration caused from the huge
misunderstanding when
someone gives you such poor
advice. This type of positive
thinking is nicely understood in a
Bible verse.
In Luke chapter 5 (NKJV), Jesus
was talking to some Pharisees
who were complaining. Jesus
replied to them in a parable so
that they would be more likely to
understand:
"No one puts a piece from a new
garment on an old one
otherwise the new makes a tear,
and also the piece that was taken
out of the new does not match
the old. And no one puts new
wine into old wineskins; or else
the new wine will burst the
wineskins and be spilled, and the
wineskins will be ruined."
The garment and the wineskins
examples are what positive
thinking does to our self-image.
A new patch over the bad
garment improves the garment a
little bit yet it is still its same old
self. If new wine ( positive
thinking) is poured into old
wineskins (your poor self-image
of feeling inferior) then nothing
good will result. It is a battle of
willpower and what is known as
creative imagination which you'll
learn more about below. Positive
thinking can slightly improve the
situation but in the end it usually
results in frustration as our
willpower becomes exhausted.
Whenever there is a fight
between willpower and creative
imagination, you can bet creative
imagination will be the victor.
From personal experience and
coaching others, I know first
hand that a better self-image
where you do not feel inferior
cannot be achieved through
positive self-talk, affirmations,
and the like. Unfortunately,
thousands of people have taught
and continue to teach that using
positive self-talk will overcome
your problems. Positive self-talk
is often nothing more than an
attempt to live deliriously from
reality and ignore what is really
taking place.
We are conditioned by society to
believe that being positive during
our own problems and when
comforting others is a good
thing. Nothing could be further
from the truth. If you are
interested in becoming a strong
pillar in someone's life where
you are able to emotionally
support people, gain their
respect, friendship, and remain
stable, composed, and poised
without feeling depressed or
insane, then I highly recommend
you get my program here.
The primary factors of the
conditioning aspect that
determines whether you become
inferior or rise above the
circumstance is your attitude
towards criticism and failure.
Don ’t forget that there is the
creative imagination aspect
which is a more powerful
influence towards feeling inferior
yet criticism and failure are the
powerful influences within the
conditioning aspect.
Criticism and failure will always
be banging at your door to
success. Unfortunately, most of
us let the two get a foot hold
within our lives and from there
the problems expand themselves.
Criticism compounds criticism
and failure demotivates you
resulting in more failure. You will
never be able to eliminate
criticism or failure. Therefore, to
overcome the inferiority complex
you cannot expect yourself to not
fail or to not receive criticism.
Overcoming the conditioning
aspect of the inferiority complex
is a matter of learning and
moving on while maintaining a
goal-focused attitude. Anyone
who has achieved anything
notable sooner or later receives
criticism. The great Greek
philosopher, Aristotle, said
"Criticism is something we can
avoid easily by saying nothing,
doing nothing, and being
nothing."
When you feel criticism is a signal
of your unworthiness then it
begins to stimulate inferiority,
shame, and failure. Don ’t take
criticism personally and think you
are a failure. If criticism is justly
deserved then use it as feedback
to adjust your course of action as
it guides you back on the path of
not feeling inferior.
You need to know that other’s
criticism towards you will either
be an attempt to improve your
life, be a release of frustration, or
a sign of the person ’s own
problems. Sometimes you can
take the criticism as a sign of you
progressing forward in life!
We all have been criticized. Some
people suffer while other's
flourish and experience great
levels of confidence, success,
happiness, and intimate
relationships. Why is this and
what can you do to overcome
your inferiority complex?
Think of a time when the power
of the sender, intensity of the
criticism, and the frequency you
were criticized made you feel
inferior. If you can and I suggest
you do, make your selected
memory one related to your
current feelings of inferiority. If
you are a shy person then
perhaps think of a time when
someone told you to stop talking
because you have nothing good
to say.
Once you have come up with one
or several memories, ask yourself
these questions:
- What were you thinking when
the person made you feel
inferior?
- What emotions did you
experience?
- What self-talk followed the
person's negative feedback?
- How long did these feelings and
thoughts last?
- How intense were these
feelings and thoughts?
After answering these questions,
if you reacted poorly to the
negative feedback given to you
in these situations, you should
now be more aware of how your
feeling of inferiority developed.
You see, the person’s criticism
and other types of negative
feedback has no power over you.
It isn't the events which make
you inferior. Rather, it is your
reaction to the events. It is the
thoughts and feelings you
experience after the event that
determine whether your
inferiority grows or dies. The
conditioning aspect of inferiority
partly manifests through the
criticism of others if we let it, yet
our reaction to the event usually
determines who we become.
Referring back to the three
components (power of sender,
intensity, and frequency) which
shape us, if you severely beat
your emotional self up and
frequently do it (for self-talk, I say
the power of the sender factor
varies depending how strong
your self-image is in the specific
area you are criticizing yourself
over), then the self-criticism will
have a bigger impact on your
inferiority.
You condition yourself to feel
inferior through self-criticism.
You become your own worst
enemy. Your "self" gets smacked
by your thoughts and self-talk.
The failures become a part of
who you are. You are unable to
disassociate events and
experiences from your identity
and so you begin to verbally bash
your mind. You feel inferior like a
failure.
Once you've initiated the
thoughts, the feelings begin to
follow. You begin to feel inferior.
You use your creative
imagination poorly and begin to
evoke images of failure, misery,
shame, unworthiness, and low
self-esteem. All these negative
messages that you've come to
accept over time mold your self-
image and make you feel inferior.
You eventually believe that you
are in fact inferior.

Ten Ways To Stop Or Reduce Interview Stress/Tension

It’s important to remember when
you’re going for a job interview
that the purpose of the interview
is to assess your suitability for
the job. You are not being
assessed as a parent or an
athlete or a lover, unless of
course, those qualifications and
skills are needed to do the job
for which you are applying.
Don’t frame the interview as a
cross-examination that will
determine your value as a
person. The job interview will
probably take 30 minutes of your
life and it should be seen as an
important occasion but not an
evaluation of your life. Your
tombstone will not contain any
references to this job interview.
It is only a very tiny part of your
life.
Your integrity and authenticity as
a person are exactly the same
after the job interview as they
were before the job interview.
Think of the event as a
conversation about a job and
this will probably make you feel
more at ease.
Here are ten suggestions on
things you can do to reduce the
stress:
1. Make a list of things that you
are likely to enjoy about it.
For example you might enjoy the
drive to the interview, or the
location in which it will be held. It
could be a place you ’ve never
visited before and you may have
some interesting things to see
and explore.
You will almost certainly meet
people that you may have never
met before and there is always
an outside chance that some of
these new people could become
lifelong friends, or lovers if the
chemistry is right. You cannot
possibly predict what
opportunities will arise from the
people encounters.
2. Good preparation is essential
to reduce the stress of the
interview.
If you are well prepared and
have done some research about
the organisation then that can
certainly help. As part of your
preparations for the interview
visit the website of the company
or organisation that you’ll be
visiting and learn as much as you
possibly can about them.
Corporate websites contain a lot
of useful information that will
inform and prepare you. The
interviewers will be impressed if
you demonstrate knowledge
about the organisation.
3. Approach the interview with
the right mindset.
One of the most important things
to do is to go to the interview
with the right mindset. Turn your
focus away from asking yourself
things like what can the job do
for me to the alternative focus of
what can I do for the job.
Make a list of all the things you
can do to add value to that
organisation using your skills,
past experience and knowledge.
If you go to the interview
focused on what you can do for
the organisation then this will
certainly create a very good
impression and greatly increases
your chances of getting the job.
4. Rehearse the job interview
using positive visualization.
A few hours prior to attending
the interview visualize yourself
going through the interview in a
relaxed calm and a professional
way and actually enjoying the
process. You may even visualize
yourself being surprised at how
well it is going. This will certainly
help you with your stress levels
and relax you and prepare you
for the event in as positive a way
as possible.
5. Organize the details and
tasks you need to cover for the
day.
Make a list of the things that you
actually need to do on the day of
the interview. For example
decide what clothes you are
going to wear, what documents
or items you might be taking to
the interview such as references
or other material that is required.
Wherever possible avoid taking
pets or children with you to the
interview!
Make sure you know where you
are going. Double check the
address of the interview and the
specific room, factory or floor in
which it will be held. The latter is
really important to sort out if the
interview is to take place in a
high rise building. You may need
to consult a map or discuss with
your friends about the best way
of getting there.
Take with you your contact
telephone numbers just in case
something unexpected occurs on
the way. If anything does happen
you will be able to ring up and
explain that you ’re inadvertently
delayed.
6. Get to the interview in plenty
of time.
Arrive in plenty of time to the
interview so that you can relax in
your surroundings and just
compose yourself before actually
talking to the people who will be
assessing you for the job
position. Once you are in the
waiting room and you have
some time to spare you can calm
your mind and focus on the
event.
7. Expect to feel a little nervous
and welcome it.
You’ll probably feel nervous
before going into the interview
and this is actually a good thing.
Some level of nervousness will
assist you to keep alert and
attentive. You don ’t want to
present feeling too laid back or
relaxed so that the interviewers
conclude that you ’re just not
interested.
8. Fully understand the nature
and requirements of the job.
Make sure that you are fully
informed of the requirements of
the job. Review the job
advertisement again and ask
yourself is this a job that you
would really enjoy doing. If you
are going for the job just
because you need a job then
your motivation may not convey
any real enthusiasm for the
position. If you really want the
job and you are enthusiastic and
excited about it and see yourself
doing it very well then this
creates a powerful mindset.
9. Give yourself full credit for
actually getting the interview.
You made the final cut. The
organisation was sufficiently
impressed by your credentials to
want to learn more about you.
Give yourself credit for this. If
100 people applied for the
position and 10 are granted
interviews then you are in that
top 10%.
10. The Interviewers have
probably experienced many job
interviews of their own.
It is very likely that the people
who will interview you have
been through many job
interviews themselves. They
probably gained their current
position because of a job
interview. Because they
understand that job interviews
can be stressful they will
probably go out of their way to
make you feel at ease.

10 Ways To Stop Or Reduce Interview Stress Or Tension

It’s important to remember when
you’re going for a job interview
that the purpose of the interview
is to assess your suitability for
the job. You are not being
assessed as a parent or an
athlete or a lover, unless of
course, those qualifications and
skills are needed to do the job
for which you are applying.
Don’t frame the interview as a
cross-examination that will
determine your value as a
person. The job interview will
probably take 30 minutes of your
life and it should be seen as an
important occasion but not an
evaluation of your life. Your
tombstone will not contain any
references to this job interview.
It is only a very tiny part of your
life.
Your integrity and authenticity as
a person are exactly the same
after the job interview as they
were before the job interview.
Think of the event as a
conversation about a job and
this will probably make you feel
more at ease.

With This Calibre Of Groups Trowing Warnings To Nigeria Do U Think Nigeria Could Be One?

The Supreme Egbesu Assembly,
SEA, in collaborations with five
ethnic nationality groups
yesterday warned those behind
the killings in the Northern part
of the country to put a stop to it
or face the music forthwith.
At a world press briefing in
Lagos by the leader of SEA, Sgt.
Werinipre Noel Digifa in company
of the Oodua Peoples Congress,
OPC, founder, Dr Frederick
Fasehun; Igbo Youth Congress,
IYC, Bright Ezeocha; Yoruba
Human Rights Research Centre,
Sola Olatunde; Federation for
Yoruba Consciousness and
Culture, FYCC, and the Oodua
Liberation Movement, Sunday
Akinnusi, the groups said unless
the Federal Government do
something urgent to stop the
killings and destruction of
property that trailed the
announcement of the
presidential election, there might
be counter reactions from their
followers.
To this end, they gave six
conditions for immediate
implementation by the
government to restore their
confidence about the unity of
Nigeria.
Egbesu leader, who said his
group hardly make public their
decision over national issues,
said recent events in the country
forced them to organised the
media briefing to let Nigerians
know that they are no more
ready to tolerate any killings of
their people in any part of the
country.
They demanded that “President
Goodluck Jonathan and the
National Assembly must act
speedily to halt the killings in the
core North and those behind the
carnage, high or low, rich or
poor, must be brought to justice
and full weight of the law
hammered on them. ”
They called on General
Mohammed Buhari and Ibrahim
Babangida to “apologise to the
country and the families of those
killed during the mayhem
through the active conduct of
their supporters in Northern
parts of the country. ”
Also, they called on the Sultan of
Sokoto, Alhaji Sa ’d Abubakar to
bring his religious and moral
authority to bear on the people
of the region to abate the
ongoing killings in the part of the
country.
Apart from this, they urged the
security agents to work together
as a team to stem the tide of
violence, or else the country is at
the brink of disintegration.
“It added, we assure that the
Ijaw people will assert its self-
determination as stipulated by
Article 27 of the United Nations
Congress, by defending itself if
nothing tangible is done.
The Egbesu leader said he was
aware of “desperate moves by
the pro-Taliban forces to set
Nigeria ablaze and pull the
trigger for turmoil. They are
anxious to do this for one thing-
they cannot live under the reality
that a South-South indigene is
now president of Nigeria. On this
note, we warn very strongly, that
the Ijaw people, in collaboration
with other progressive
nationalities, will resist any
attempt being made to
destabilise the current
democratic experience.”

Osama's death chapter A closes

WHEN most people thought the
United States had given up the
chase on Osama bin Laden,
reputed leader of al-Qaeda,
President Barack Obama
announced that US forces shot
him dead on Sunday in the Bilal
area of Abbottabad, about 97km
north of Islamabad, the Pakistani
capital.
The helicopter-backed attack was
executed with uttermost secrecy,
an action that can worsen
deteriorating US-Pakistani
relations, especially with the
discovery that Osama lived in the
same neighbourhood with
Pakistan ’s officers corps when its
government kept denying that
Osama was within its borders.
In life or death, Osama who
some intelligence sources said
had died by December 2001
would remain controversial. The
US ’ decision to bury his body at
sea, as it said no country was
willing to accept the corpse, is
another controversy.
Almost 10 years ago, al-Qaeda’s
bombing of the Twin Towers,
Pentagon and an attempt at the
White House crafted 9/11
(September 11 – the date of the
attack) into one of the most
memorable days in history.
September 11 was an
embarrassment to the US, which
discovered how vulnerable it was
within its shores. The attack
killed nearly 3,000 people,
overshadowed earlier al-Qaeda
attacks on US interests, changed
the global concept of security,
including checks on passports
and procedures for air travellers.
Osama remained elusive. Some
saw him in Afghanistan, some in
Pakistan. Others claimed too that
he had died from battle injuries.
Occasional videotaped messages
in his name deepened the
mystery.
“For over two decades, bin Laden
has been al-Qaeda’s leader and
symbol, and has continued to
plot attacks against our country
and our friends and allies. The
death of bin Laden marks the
most significant achievement to
date in our nation ’s effort to
defeat al Qaeda. Yet his death
does not mark the end of our
effort.
There is no doubt that al Qaeda
will continue to pursue attacks
against us. ” Obama told
Americans some of who were
jubilant enough to pour into the
streets.
There are fears of al-Qaeda
attacks in response to Osama’s
death. It may want to warn that
without Osama, whose personal
wealth and business links
provided logistics for al-Qaeda,
the attacks will continue.
Obama tried to assuage feelings
of Muslims. “We must also
reaffirm that the United States is
not – and never will be – at war
with Islam. Bin Laden was not a
Muslim leader; he was a mass
murderer of Muslims. Indeed, al-
Qaeda has slaughtered scores of
Muslims in many countries,
including our own. So his
demise should be welcomed by
all who believe in peace and
human dignity, ” he said.
Yet some will question the timing
of the operation and the
implication of US carrying out
ground attacks in Pakistan
without the government ’s
knowledge. This absolute disdain
for its allies is a major flaw of US
foreign policy even in dealings
with Britain, Canada, and
Australia with whom it is
supposed to share intelligence.
Perhaps more disturbing is that
US can – under the guise of its
war against terrorists –
intervene in some Arab countries
where its allies are facing
domestic uprisings.
The death of Osama may close
one chapter, but could open
others as factions of al-Qaeda
could forge on without a central
leadership until they wither
under the challenges of logistics
to sustain their attacks. Vigilance
remains crucial for the world to
deal with al-Qaeda and other
terrorists.
